Using an example

How do I read an example?
Start at the top. Each numbered panel has a comment block above it: what each variant does, COMPARE (the difference that decides which one to use), USE WHEN (where it is used in real pages), the common MISTAKE, and TRY lines. Point at any word to see its meaning on the right (or above the code on a phone).
How do I try the TRY lines?
Press Edit & experiment. The code becomes editable: make the one change the TRY line describes, press Run, and compare the result with what the comment predicted. Reset to the original puts the code back.
Why can't I copy the code?
On purpose. You learn far more by typing an example yourself in VS Code than by pasting it. Read a panel, close the page, and write it from memory, then come back and compare.
The result is empty or the console says something went wrong.
Press Reset to the original and Run again. If the original itself does not work, please tell me (below) with the topic number and the browser you use.
Which browser should I use?
Any recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a computer or a phone. Pointing at words works best with a mouse; on a phone, tap a word instead.
